Fiji's "wet" season is from November to April which is also the time most likely to see tropical cyclones. The best time to visit is during the so-called 'Fijian winter' or 'dry season', from May to October. This time of year is more pleasant with lower rainfall and humidity, milder temperatures and less risk of meteorological hazards such as cyclones. Consequently these six months make up the high season, when airfare and accommodation costs are at their highest. Expect costs to peak in June and July.

Fiji Vacation Tips

ATM machines are available in cities only, so we recommend that you take credit cards and travellers cheques. If you choose to take cash, they prefer Australian Dollars or US Dollars for exchange at banks and currency exchange counters. The local bus circles the island and is very reasonable, but not necessarily reliable. We recommend that you pre-arrange a tour of Fiji, the outer islands or a "Blue Lagoon Cruise".
